As my grandmother always used to say, ‘time goes faster the older you get.’ I never believed her when I was young, but she wasn’t kidding. I honestly don’t know where the entire year of 2022 went but it’s now over and here we go again into a new year filled with potential, hope, joy, and possibly success, however you wish to define it! I’m sure there will be moments of sorrow, strife and difficulty too but I’m choosing to focus on the positive things rather than worry about the other stuff.

Shortly before Christmas, we finally managed to get things together enough to release our first batch of TWISTED RIVER FINISHING SALTS! It was exciting and scary. Needless to say, we didn’t sell much as it as too late to get an online store set up or attend any markets (we don’t have enough product for that yet anyhow), but the fact that we had it ready was no small feat on it’s own. So, for those who like gourmet food products, we have the following available in 56g pinching tins for only $6.99/tin:

We have a few sample packs available also – you choose 3 varieties (total of 45 g) for $8.99. All of our salts are infused with only organic herbs, fruits, and vegetables, most of which were grown right here on our farm. If we run out we will source as close to home as possible, or wait until we have more grown to utilize. We do intend to set up a online store for everyone’s conveniences, and we are currently reviewing costs, and capabilities as we only want to have to set this up once!

Aside from our finishing salts, we will soon have meat for sale again, but we have decided to stick with sausage varieties which will be available this spring. We are just deciding which varieties will sell the best before we put in our orders. You’ll have a choice this time too – beef, pork, lamb, turkey, or duck! Of course, all our meats will be government inspected.

I guess the other exciting news is that we are going to set up a farm gate store, as soon as spring arrives, where we can sell our products. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but we intend to sell all of our Twisted River Salts Seasonings & Sauces – including finishing salts, packaged peppers, fresh herbs & dried herbs, seasonings, rubs, hot sauce (under Devils Darlin brand), microgreens and other vegetables, along with some art pieces, farm merch such as clothing and home decor items, fresh table eggs – chicken and duck, our sausage and whatever else we can come up with that might be of interest to our customers. This is keeping me quite pre-occupied in my ‘spare’ time – planning, prepping, painting, and so on! I have a lot to do in only a few months!

As usual, we have piglets, calves, and lambs expected for baby season so stay tuned for updates in between prepping for garden season. It’s going to be a great year!
